Montreal, March 23, 2023 – The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains has been a resounding hit with the Quebec audience! To date, 85,000 visitors to the exhibition at Arsenal Contemporary Art Montreal have discovered the creative universe of Pink Floyd. There are only 10 days left to the exhibition that has become a must-see on the Montreal cultural scene as the last day is April 2, 2023.

50th Anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon
March 2023 has been chosen to mark the 50th anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon, one of the most iconic and influential albums in modern music. The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains is the place to be to pay tribute to the band and celebrate the event. It’s a good bet that true fans will not miss a chance to commemorate the anniversary!
The Dark Side of the Moon is the band’s eighth studio album, first released on March 1, 1973 in the U.S. and on March 16 of the same year in the U.K. The iconic cover design was created by Aubrey ‘Po’ Powell and Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis and drawn by George Hardie. Creative director of the band and all their album covers ‘Po’ made the trip to Montreal to attend the opening night of the exhibition along with Nick Mason, drummer and founding member of Pink Floyd, Michael Cohl, executive producer of the exhibition and more than 400 special guests – personalities from the music industry and the entertainment world.

Wearing headphones and guided by the voices of the members of the band, the public become immersed in Pink Floyd’s universe discovering, room after room, the story behind the creation of legendary albums such as Ummagumma, The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall and many others. More than an exhibition just for fans, The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains has become a cultural monument that spans the generations, with people bringing their kids and even grandkids with them in order to share their memories and love of the band’s music. Spring break is the perfect time to bring the next generation to share the love of the band and its ground-breaking music.
A deep dive into Pink Floyd’s creative universe
Retracing the 40-year career of the band, the exhibition follows a chronologic path from their debut to their last reunion, their legendary performance at the Live 8 concert in London’s Hyde Park. Featuring an incredible soundtrack of their music and more than 350 unique, masterfully created artifacts, instruments, props and giant set pieces from their history such as The Division Bell heads, the infamous inflatable pig from Animals, and the schoolmaster from The Wall, the exhibition presents a multimedia story about Pink Floyd: The band, their career, their inspiration and their creative process, including rare elements such as the original The Dark Side of the Moon album cover art. A special section has been added to memorialize Montreal’s special part in the history of the band’s career.
